The Frontier Karate Association kicked off the first of four Association Training Sessions for 2026 with a strong and focused day of development. The session was led by Sensei Paul Simmons (7th Dan), Head of Association and Head Coach, alongside Sensei Anthoni Everitt (6th Dan) and Sensei Jade Honeywood (4th Dan). The training brought together athletes of different ages and experience levels, all working towards raising their standards in both kata and kumite.
The kata sessions focused on performance preparation, including structured warm-up drills specifically designed to prepare the body and mind before stepping onto the tatami. Emphasis was placed on correct movement, timing, and the importance of preparation leading into a strong performance. In the kumite sessions, athletes worked on the fundamentals of Gyakuzuki, breaking down the core mechanics and drilling the technique thoroughly. These drills were delivered across both the 11 years and under group and the 12 years and over session, ensuring every athlete reinforced strong technical foundations.
It was a demanding session with plenty of hard work throughout, and the effort and commitment from everyone involved was clear to see. Well done to all athletes who attended and set the tone for the rest of the 2026 Association training series.
