Khalsa champions entered Eoin Purcell male 12-13 years and Ola jedrzejczyk female 14-15 years, both athletes have been training hard for this compition as they both have their eyes set on junior and cadet European selection 2017 .
So this is an important year for them both and their coach anthony balkissoon.
This years kyu grade national has an amazing atmosphere as competitors where only permitted to use their kyu grade kata’s which in essence every club and association was on a level playing field, which made this years nationals a even harder competion to win.
Both Eoin and Ola won through their rounds , both competing in 4 rounds to make it to their respective finals and both winning their finals 5 flags to nil.
What an amazing feeling for them both and their coach, so proud of them both for their hard work , commitment and attitude, both amazing athletes.
Khalsa champions and frontier association are proud to have new kata national gold medalist.
Forza Karate Club entered 3 individual and all first timers to the event. Lauren Symmons lost first round and Kobe Yogarajah lost 6-4 against the eventual silver medalist, later Kobe took part in the team event alongside association club mates, Zuko and Eli to take a silver medal.
Jamie Cowling had to withdraw.

- Ciara Gray – English Bronze Medallist 2016. Ciara was last years 2015 Silver Medallist.
- Florence Bradley – Out 1st round. Florence was last years 2015 England Champion.
- Zuko Robb – Won first round. Out second round.
- Ashley To – Out first round.
- Jamie Cowling – Withdrew
- Kobe Yogarajah – Out first round in kumite, Out second round in Kata.
